'Traditional'
Psychological Assessment

These evaluations are designed to diagnose learning, behavioral, or emotional challenges and to help guide treatment or educational support. Dr. Wolf provides assessment for children, adolescents and adults to diagnose Autism and ADHD.

  • Focus: Identifying what might be “wrong” through testing, and assigning a diagnosis if appropriate.

  • Process: Following an in-depth discussion about the reason you are seeking testing to gather background and history, your child/adolescent participates in testing. We will meet together to go over the findings, and you will receive a written report with test scores, diagnoses, and recommendations.

  • Benefits: This approach is helpful when a diagnosis is needed for school, treatment, or accommodations. They provide clear, standardized data about your child’s strengths and challenges, often used to guide next steps or services.

'Therapeutic'
Psychological Assessment

Therapeutic, collaborative  assessment takes a different approach. It’s not just about getting answers, it’s about helping your child and your family feel seen, understood, and empowered. this approach turns the assessment itself into a part of the healing journey.

  • Focus: Understanding your child’s inner world and the struggles your family is facing, while promoting growth, emotional insight, and resilience.

  • Role of the child:  We explore your child's questions and concerns in developmentally appropriate ways.

  • Role of the parent(s): You’re a vital part of the team. We collaborate to uncover elements beneath the surface that may be contributing to the challenges, and use this information to identify potential new pathways to address challenges.

  • Benefits: More than just answers, you gain clarity, a shared understanding, and a path forward that respects your child’s strengths and your family’s values.
